I lost my Merlin, my British bulldog,
constant companion, protector, best friend, and familiar of eleven years, a month ago, and started this piece immediately afterwards; I have been fighting with it - posing, lighting, you name it - and all my other works ever since. Finally, today, I have her finished (I think
), and so now I hope that I have worked through my artist's block. I have found that working without the constant distraction of an 83 pound bulldog trying to get me to play or give scratchies, or the noise of his snoring, to be, well, rather distracting.
Regardless, Merlin never stopped for anything, and neither shall I, so, fingers crossed
my slump is over. Here's hoping you like it
